Megvii unveils commercial version of proprietary AI productivity platform Brain++

Beijing, September 21, 2020 – Megvii Technology Limited announced today the launch of the commercial version of its AI productivity platform Brain++ to help businesses build their own AI capabilities, deploy customized algorithms at scale, and accelerate their digital transformation.


The commercial version of Brain++ is designed specifically to solve pain points businesses typically encounter when trying to digitalize and upgrade their operations. The solution encompasses a suite of capabilities that allow enterprise customers to swiftly deploy customized AI systems and algorithms at scale, including:
• An algorithm development platform that covers the entire lifecycle of algorithm production, from data management to model optimization and scheduling.
• The solution integrates both software and hardware, from algorithm production to cluster construction and deployment.
• Bespoke full process supporting services across a range of customer scenarios and use cases.
Developing AI and algorithms from scratch can be an arduous and often complicated process. With the commercial version of Brain++, businesses can tap into an existing platform to accelerate their digitalization. It has been tested and proven that Brain++ can effectively shorten algorithm development time by 80% and reduce the overall cost of algorithm production by 55%.

Initially developed in 2014, Brain++ is a proprietary AI productivity platform that Megvii built to train computer vision algorithms at scale. It functions as a unified underlying architecture and provides critical support for Megvii’s algorithm training and model improvement processes. Brain++ consists of three primary components, namely MegEngine (deep learning framework), MegData (data management system), and MegCompute (computing power dispatching system). Megvii announced in March 2020 that it would open source MegEngine to allow global developers to create AI solutions for industrial and commercial scenarios and to foster an ecosystem around Brain++. On September 18, 2020, the company released the 1.0 preview version of MegEngine.
