Megvii
debuts comprehensive smart logistics strategy, strengthening its Supply Chain
IoT offering
As part of the launch, Megvii unveiled the 2.0 version of its smart
logistics platform HETU, along with a suite of seven new AI-empowered hardware.
The solutions are designed to address pain points industrial businesses
typically encounter when streamlining and digitalizing their operations. Due to
rising order volumes and customer demand for swift deliveries, warehouses today
are often space-constrained, underscoring the need for businesses to tap into
the power of AI to find more flexible and efficient ways of managing logistics
and operational processes.
Megvii unveils seven new AI-empowered hardware
The strategy will focus on three key pillars to accelerate the adoption of AI in industrial and logistics scenarios:
• Continuously strengthening AI algorithms and computing power: Develop, upgrade, and deploy AI systems and algorithms at scale to cater to a range of industrial scenarios and use cases. The launch of HETU 2.0, an update of the HETU 1.0 operating system, is testament to this commitment. HETU 2.0 is incorporates a self-adaptive feature that automatically refreshes warehouse management depending on dynamic changes to clients’ operational processes. It is designed to address the ever evolving and more complex needs of the supply chain and logistics industries.
• Integrating software and hardware to deliver tangible value: Megvii will focus on smart logistics equipment integrating hardware, such as intelligent robots and Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV), and software to help enterprise customers deploy AI technologies at scale and optimize efficiency.
• Foster an ecosystem around HETU to streamline operations and boost efficiency: Megvii will continue to provide a one-stop operating solution to logistics companies and manufacturers. HETU serves as an underlying operating system that can seamlessly connect devices and systems in a variety of operational settings, enabling enterprise customers to manage warehouse processes with ease.
Along with the strategy launch, Megvii also established the Artificial Intelligence Logistics Industry Alliance, bringing together over leading 30 institutions and enterprises to accelerate the development of AI-empowered smart logistics.
Tang Wenbin, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Megvii, said, “Supply Chain IoT is an important pillar of our value proposition and a key driver of sustainable and scalable growth for Megvii. We will continue to strengthen our capabilities in the logistics sector to deliver tangible value to traditional enterprises in need.”
Xu Qingcai, General Manager of Megvii Logistic Business Group, said, “Megvii’s solutions have been effective in helping customers address a range of challenges in a warehouse setting, from labor shortages during peak demand periods to space constraints.”
Megvii has developed and deployed customized logistics solutions for customers across a range of sectors, such as accessories, apparel, manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and FMCG. Notable examples include.
· The first warehouse in Asia to deploy over 400 intelligent robots: Coordinated by the HETU operating platform and the customer’s own software, approximately 400 robots automatically navigate within the warehouse, find items ordered, and deliver them to the packaging line.
· Unmanned warehouse storage solution for Storefriendly: Partnered with self-service storage operator Storefriendly to deploy an unmanned warehouse storage solution in Singapore. The solution is powered by HETU, facial authentication solution FaceID, logistics robots, and e-lock capabilities, enabling a space utilization rate of 75%, more than three times that of traditional warehouses.
· Smart logistics solution for confectionary manufacturer Hsu Fu Chi: Deployed a smart logistics solution in Hsu Fu Chi’s warehouses in Dongguan, China, which has helped to optimize cost, strengthen efficiency, and streamline operational processes. The solution has enabled Hsu Fu Chi to reduce the use of traditional equipment, such as forklifts, by 30%.
